JCC Insight · Practical guide

How much does a Shopify store cost?

Separate store development from the amounts paid to the platform and other suppliers.

Building and operating are different costs

The project covers presentation, catalogue, navigation and the agreed settings. Operations include the platform, payments and additional services the store uses. A subscription price cannot be compared with a store development quote: they cover different responsibilities.

Before a quote, identify the number of products and variants, the countries you will serve and whether content imports or system integrations are needed. A targeted change to an existing store is also not the same as building a complete store.

List the external costs

Shopify offers different billing options and payment fees. Themes and apps can add costs. Confirm current conditions with the providers before subscribing, and do not rely on temporary promotions when planning the ongoing budget.

  • Platform plan and billing option
  • Chosen domain, theme and apps
  • Fees for the payment method used
  • Logistics services or integrations where needed

Already have a store?

An editorial section, product information area or responsive block can have its own scope. I review the existing theme and code first. Compatibility and theme editing are confirmed for the specific intervention, not promised for every store.
